cougar capsule on reed

Reeeeeediculous!

So this past weekend was the Cougar's first home game-and it was so fun! They beat Cal-Baptist in 4 on Friday and swept them on Saturday. Reed started every game and he played so well! It was so fun to finally get to see him play in person. This was his first regular season home game and we couldn't be prouder of him! It was so fun to have his parents here and we had lots of aunts and uncles and cousins and friends to cheer Reed on. My parents and grandparents really enjoyed watching the games on TV and can't wait to see him play in California soon. Other than that, it's been a pretty slow week. We're just getting ready for another weekend of volleyball in Provo!

Let the Games Begin!

It's time for another exciting men's volleyball season! The Cougars are starting off the season ranked #1 nationally-not a bad way to start! They had their first conference match against UC San Diego last weekend, winning both Friday and Saturday night. Reed didn't get to play as much as we had hoped he would, but played very well with the time the coaches gave him. This last Friday they played #10 IPFW (it's in Indiana) and came out on top. Reed played about 1/2 of the 3rd game and all of the 4th game and did very well. He even had some very impressive solo blocks! Last night (Saturday), they played Lewis (it's in the Chicago area) and won 15-13 in the 5th game! It was definitely a nail biter! Reed started and played all 5 games! It was very exciting! Tomorrow they play #14 Loyalo-Chicago and it will be interesting to see which setter Coach Patchell decides to start. We're thankful to all the family and friends that made the trip out to see Reed play this weekend-thanks for all your support! We're also so thankful that Reed is able to play-especially after his knee injury last year. I'm so proud of him for all the hard work he puts in and can't wait for the home opener this weekend agianst Cal Baptist (but I'm even more excited to finally have him home for a weekend!).

Happy Birthday Lil' Reg!!

We would like to welcome Reggie Alan Johansson to the family! He was born today (January 7, 2008) at about 3:30 pm and weighed in at 8 lbs 8 oz and about 20 inches long (I forgot the exact #!). Mom and baby are both doing well. We're keeping our fingers crossed that he can say his "R"s! Congrats to the new mom and dad!

Happy New Year!

Well, we just got back from a wonderful Christmas break in Richland Washington. It was my first Christmas away from home and it was great! I made my first graham cracker house, threw rocks in the Columbia River, and played the Wii. We were so glad we got to spend the break with Todd, Carrie, and Stella (e-i-e-ooooooooo!!!), and Marie. Overall, I'd say our first Christmas together was a huge success!
