Like Father, Like Son

They both like to take naps during General Conference (and let's be honest...so does mom!)

Both love to watch college football (this kid LOVES to watch TV!)And they both look good in a shirt and tie! Matchy-matchy!

And here's Evan after his first BYU paradeAnd spending time with Grandpa Johansson during his surprise visit! Thanks for coming to see us!

And we are moving this Saturday. We're excited for Evan to finally have his own room, but are so bummed we're not staying in our ward. We have really loved this ward and tried to find something that would work for us within it, but it just didn't work out. We're so grateful for all of the friends we've made and for all they've done for us, especially when Evan was sick. Thanks guys! We'll still be in Provo, so let's not be strangers!
If you want our new address, just leave a comment and I'll email it to you

Evan's First Hike

This Friday the volleyball team hiked to Stewart Falls up by Sundance. All the guys were encouraged to bring a date, so Evan and I got to tag along. Reed and I had done this hike over the summer when I was about 6 months pregnant, so I told Reed it was his turn to carry the baby. We loaded Evan up in the Baby Bjorn and he did great! He slept part of the way, but the rest of the time he was very content just looking around, enjoying the fresh air. It was a perfect day to go-it was clear and the fall colors were so bright and beautiful!

All ready to go!

2 Months!

Our little Evan turned 2 months yesterday! We all know what that means-shots! He was pretty ticked for a minute, but then calmed down and fell asleep...hopefully he'll be this good when he's 5? Probably not.

Here are his stats:
11 pounds, 15 ounces (50th percentile)
24 inches (90th percentile)
38 cm head circumference (10th percentile)
Not very happy about his shots...poor little guy!

The Best of Times, The Worst of Times

Me and Evan had a great day yesterday. He slept when he was supposed to sleep and was awake and happy when he was supposed to be awake. We were able to go on a lovely fall walk around the neighborhood.

When Reed got home from school and work we decided we were gonna get Reed's little sister, Marie, to come over and watch Evan after we put him to bed so we could go to the 2nd half of the men's soccer game. It kind of made me feel like a bad mother for leaving him when he's so young. But he was in bed and fed and we were just down the street. But honestly, it felt soooo good! I love my baby, but it was so nice to get out for a little bit with just Reed. Thanks so much Marie-you'll understand what a wonderful thing you did for me once you have your own little one!

Then it was 1 am on night 1 of sleep training. Evan was up for his feeding right on time. I fed him and put him back in bed. Then he was up again at 3:30 ready for his next feeding, 1/2 hour too early. So I gave him the binky and let him wait for about 20-30 minutes. We fed him and put him back to bed. But apparently he was ready to go back to sleep. Apparently he wasn't ready to go back to bed for the next 4 hours until he was supposed to get up! ugh! Needless to say, it was a long night. But shorter than Wednesday night when he did the same thing starting at 11 pm. I love my little guy, but he can be such a stinker! And of course he was all smiles when we got him out of bed this morning! How can you be upset with this face?!
Workin' hard on tummy time!

Evan's Blessing Day

This past Sunday we were able to bless our little Evan at church. Reed did such a wonderful job. Evan was a really good baby and slept through the whole thing. We had such a great weekend with our families and are so thankful to those who traveled far to be here for it. It was such a little miracle-a month ago we didn't even know if we'd be out of the hospital quite yet. We sure do love this little boy and are grateful to have him be a part of our family!

And here are a few of my favorite recent pictures
