Cupcakes and Smarty Pants
We hope everyone had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend! We had a lot of fun-here's a quick breakdown.
Saturday: We did a little shopping looking for all those Memorial Day sales. We didn't do quite as good as we had hoped, but that's ok. That night we hiked the Y with Reed's old roommate, Craig and his fiance, Heidi. We enjoyed the great view from the top and had some much deserved Frosty's after!
Sunday: We were the keynote speakers in sacrament meeting at church and then hurried home for the best French toast with fresh strawberries and whipped cream on cinnamon raisin bread! It was so good! We ended our night by making and frosting some cupcakes! Our frosting wasn't quite the right consistency as you can tell from the picture!
Monday: Reed took me to the park to play tennis for the first time. It was pretty ugly, but we had fun and are excited to get better. The highlight of the day was trying a new recipe for dinner. We made Kung Pao chicken and I'm so impressed how well it turned out! It was really good!
Today we found out that Reed made the MPSF All-Academic Team! He was one of only four BYU players to make it. Way to go Reed, keep it up!

I'll Go Where You Want Me To Go...
Just wanted to say congrats to my little brother, Bryant, who just got his mission call to Lansing, Michigan! He reports to the MTC on September 3, so he'll get to Michigan just in time for one of their wonderful winters! We are so proud of Bryant and couldn't be more excited for him! Good luck Mr. B!!!!

Now What?
So now that volleyball season is over, I really don't know what to post about! Penn State ended up beating Pepperdine for the National Championship, which we weren't too happy about. Oh well. Ohio State made it to the Final Four so it was fun to get to watch Reed's teammate from high school, Brett Versen, get to play in the semis. He did great!
Reed has started spring term-surveying and chem! Woo hoo! And he's also excited to be working with his volleyball buddies cleaning on-campus student housing! And I just keep on working.
We were sad to have to say bye to Reed's brother and his family yesterday. We've had so much fun getting to spend time with them the past few weeks. We hope they make it back to Virginia safely and that we get to see them again soon!
And here's a very cold and windy graduation pic just for fun!

Family Invasion!
The last 2 weeks have been so fun for us because we've gotten to see so much of our families! Last weekend, we had my sister and her husband, Reed's older brother Jay and his family, and Reed's parents (for a few hours!). They were all able to come to the last 2 regular season home matches against USC. Unfortunately, they didn't get to see Reed play much (mostly because it was senior night). But we had so much fun with them-especially when building a volleyball net in our kitchen!
This weekend my parents and my little brother Bryant stayed with us Friday night before heading up to BYU-I. Unfortunately, Reed had a calc final Friday night from 7-10 and a statics final Saturday morning from 7-10. But it was still good to have them here.
Saturday night Reed's parents were here for the quarterfinal game of the MPSF tournament when BYU hosted UC Irvine. I won't get into it to much because it just makes us all mad, but Reed didn't get to play. The coach pretty much made the worst decision ever and started the 3rd string setter that hasn't played all season in our first post season game. The Cougs took the first 2 games easily, but blew it at the end of the 3rd game. Finally after struggling much of the 4th game, Coach Patchell put the senior setter in and he finished off the Anteaters (pretty intimidating, huh?). It was the most disappointing win! We were all pretty upset that Reed and Brian have put in so much work this season to just get brushed off at the end like this. Hopefully next week will be better.
In other exciting news, I'm pulling out all my Tupperware and favorite casserole recipes because I was just called and the Compassionate Service Leader in our ward! I'm actually really excited for this calling and can't wait to start making meals for all the new moms in our ward!
This week Reed will be finishing up finals, going to California to play CSU Northridge in the semi-finals and hopefully playing in the conference championship, I'll be walking in graduation and enjoying all the family coming to town this week!

Cougars in Hawaii
Leandro, Reed, Andrew, and J Rob getting ready to snorkel

Reed and J Rob getting ready to parasail!
And like any good husband, Reed brought me home some chocolate covered macademia nuts! He also got me a really cute blue and white flowered sun dress! He's getting really good at this husband stuff! Maybe one day I'll get to wear it in Hawaii...

This weekend was also an awesome General Conference. Unfortunately, Reed didn't get to see any of the Saturday sessions. I personally loved the Solemn Assembly. It was so neat to see the General Authorities stand and sustain each other and then to get to do it myself. We are so thankful for President Monson and all our other leaders and for the unwavering structure of the Church.
